What If?

I was asked not long ago to draw Wolverine in a Punisher t-shirt. Not being one to do things the simple way, I threw this together.

Before I go on, I didn't draw this with some fan fiction story in mind. My whole premise was just to combine the looks of the two. You want a story, write one. I'm not too keen on fan fiction anyways.
But I digress, I do like how this came out. It's not too often I draw Wolverine (I like the character just fine, doesn't mean I like to draw him much), so this is a little treat. It's also one of the half decent drawings of a gun I've done.

NWF

Here's a couple "from the vault" so to speak. Here we have the sketch and finished work of my favourite lady's comic character, Lelia. Shelby draws the webcomic No Where Fast (http://www.geocities.com/nowherefastcomic/) . Check it out. Now.
Anyways, you can see I was originally going to have two characters present (that's Evil NL, by the way), but I just wasn't liking how he was looking. I decided to take the lazy route and just ignore him.
This was drawn on paper, but the "inking" was done all on computer. I work with a Toshiba Satellite Tablet PC, so all the rest of the drawing was done right on the screen. The lineart and colouring were all done in openCanvas (only resized and colours tweaked in Photoshop). I think I used the spoon pen for the lines and just played around with the brushes for the colours. The only thing I'm not happy with is the hair.
I'll have more finished stuff soon.

Lil' Eastwood

And here we have Lil' Eastwood. Me and one of my friends (Dave Milchick) constantly come up with wierd and sometimes stupid characters. We're also both Clint Eastwood fans.

We came up with this one after having a conversation about Clint's mom still being alive and wondering how that childhood went.

Basically, Lil' Eastwood (or Clinty) retains the same head and voice of modern day Eastwood, although he has the personality of a 1950's child. Our favourite story has Lil Eastwood competing (by himself) in "The Trikey 5 Million!!!" Think Calvin and Hobbes only with a 45 Magnum instead of a plush tiger.

Rounding out the characters are his Mom (who sounds exactly like Clint; haven't decided on how she'll look though), possibly his Dad, and some sluggish Andy Ricter esque best friend. Matter of fact, might just be Andy.

Criminal Macabre #1: Two Red Eyes

Fresh after reading the Criminal Macabre trade, I sketched what eventually became this. I had posted on Steve Nile's message board for awhile, and I would submit artwork every once in awhile. Steve liked this so much after I threw it on there, that he had me contact his Dark Horse editor Shawna Gore about getting this in a letters page of one of the Cal books.

First it was going to appear in the one-shot Criminal Macabre: Feat of Clay, but tight deadlines let this to be cut. After talking with Shawna, I found out that it will be printed in the new ongoing Criminal Macabre book in Dec. Pretty cool, huh?

Shame is, I believe the url to my Deviant art page that I don't really plan to use anymore will still accompany it, but what can you do?

New artwork with next post. It's already done, so I ain't BSing.

Foist Post

Alright, let get this crap started.

For all intents and purposes, this is pretty much the newest sketch I've drawn up. The past few weeks weren't all that great for sitting down and drawing, so this is sort of an accompishment.

I think it was earlier this year that I started reading Cal McDonald stories and comics by Steve Niles. While not too many, there are mini series, short stories, one shots, and novels all featuring the drugged up and rarely sober monster hunting detective. Coming up this month, (the 20th I hear), Dark Horse will be putting out Criminal Macabre #1: Two Red Eyes. Written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), art by Kyle Hotz (Billy the Kid's Old-Timey Oddities), and a cover by Tim Bradstreet (Punisher cover artist). Also, I've been told by the editor Shawna Gore that a Cal drawing (not this one, will put it up later) I did will be in the letter columns. There's a fun story behind that, but I'll talk about that later.
